We all knew that the Radiant Red version of the Epiphone Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior was coming, as it leaked online back in June. Now, it is officially out at last and on the heels of his Dookie amp head from Marshall.
The basic guitar is essentially the same as the last Epiphone signature model, but it is now available in this bright Radiant Red finish for a limited time. Previously, we have seen it in the Classic White finish, which was back in 2021.
Specifications
Crafted with a solid mahogany body and a matching set mahogany neck, this guitar delivers the legendary warm, punchy midrange and rich natural sustain tone-chasers love. The neck has an Indian Laurel fretboard fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets, with a standard 24.75-inch scale length.
This model has a single Epiphone PRO P-90 Dogear bridge pickup with volume and tone controls. It is about as simple as you can get, and that really is its strength. No crazy switching options or fancy pickup combinations; just turn it up and go!
Hardware includes a wraparound lightning bar bridge and a set of Epiphone Deluxe tuners with white buttons.
Who is it for?
Obviously, this one will appeal to Green Day fans and anyone who knows the beauty of a single-pickup LP Junior-style guitar. They are far more versatile than you would think; just listen to the late great Leslie West “if you know what I mean!”
I like the fact that the red colour is bold and it makes this model stand out from the crowd.

The Epiphone Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior in Radiant Red is available now at Thomann, priced at $545/£488/€569. The price includes a faux leopard skin furry-lined hard case, so it is a bit of a bargain really.
