Sync Audio MegaMod: Add Modulation to Any Plugin – for Free!
A plugin that adds a modulation chain to any instrument or effect.
Sync Audio MegaMod is a useful free plugin that lets you creatively modulate effects plugins and now instrument plugins in your DAW too.
Ever wished that a synth or effect could do a little bit more in terms of modulation? Now it can. MegaMod expands any plugin, allowing you to build complex modulation chains with a range of different devices for controlling parameters in different ways.
Sync Audio MegaMod
MegaMod works almost like a wrapper for any plugin. You can insert it as an effect or software instrument on an appropriate channel in your DAW, and then load the plugin you’d like to modulate inside the MegaMod interface. Then, using its MegaMod panel, you can build your own custom chain to modulate any parameter on the plugin.
Within the chain, you can add devices such as LFOs, envelopes, and random mod generators, as well as vector XY and macro controllers. When using an EQ, for instance, this allows you to modulate the gain of specific frequency bands or even their Q factor, for dynamic EQ behavior that can work in time with your DAW project tempo or be shaped around the phrasing of a loop or melody.
In addition, the XY and macro controllers can become extensions of your automation workflow, allowing you to control multiple parameters from a single automation lane in your DAW. This is particularly useful for creating delay risers and reverb throw effects that use decay time and reverb size at the same time.
We’ve all had times when we wanted our favourite JUNO emulator synth plugin to have just a few more knobs to tweak. Now, with MegaMod, you can add new layers of animation to your sounds, which is an exciting idea for creating pulsating rhythmic pads that lock into the groove of a deep house track or another style of music.
