With this update, there are improvements for the Yamaha URX series audio interfaces, the MGX series digital mixers, the CC1 controller, and the MixKey software.

With the help of the Steinberg subsidiary, Yamaha has expanded its range of solutions for content creation and streaming to offer some of the best systems in their respective price ranges.

The main focus of the new update is on improving the URX series audio interfaces, but there are enhancements across the various product lines that upgrade features like workflow, routing, and recall. Also, you can now use the CC1 to control the MixKey streaming software, which makes it a more complete solution.

Meanwhile, users of the URX audio interfaces and the MGX digital mixers have a range of new benefits. Your main monitor and headphone level can now be controlled with the main rotary control of the URX, and all models except the URX22 now allow you to save and recall your console profile from a microSD card.

In addition, the sound pad editor on the MGX now has an audio trimming function, so you can tighten the sample playback if needed. There is also a range of features for both the URX and MGX series, including the addition of stereo sends, stereo bus assignment, and the onboard effects of these devices are now available in Basic FX Suite V4.0 as VST/AU/AAX plugins.

Yamaha also plans to add this feature to the UR-C series, URX-C series, and AXR series on 9 July and introduce a range of 13 new effects alongside SSMCS, REV-X, and Guitar Amp Classics. Overall, the updates turn these tools into a more integrated system, bringing features between platforms for consistency between the streaming, capture, and post-production phases.

Starting with the entry-level URX22 2×2 interface, it provides 16-track recording, an extra USB connector for mobile devices, and integration with OBS Studio and Elgato Stream Deck controllers. As you go up the range, the URX44 offers double the I/O, 18-track recording via USB, and 16-track recording via microSD.

Finally, the top-of-the-range URX44V adds HDMI-to-USB video/audio input capture and HDMI pass-through for recording and streaming directly from camera feeds or your dedicated streaming PC.
