Make Noise continues to expand its so-called “New Universal Synthesizer System” (NUSS). The common idea behind previous NUSS modules such as MultiMod and Polimaths: simple structures are used to generate multiple signals that interact with each other and relate to each other musically in different ways. Or, as Make Noise calls it: “From one comes many.” Now, there’s an oscillator to match.

More Information

Multiwave is an 8-channel wavetable oscillator module. Each channel offers two wavetable oscillators (A and B) that can be controlled independently or jointly. 64 wavetables are included, each consisting of 64 waves. Oscillators A and B each have their own V/Oct inputs; in addition, a global pitch input is available for transposition.

The Spread, Span, and Accumulate parameters known from Polimaths and MultiMod are a common thread that seems to run through all NUSS modules, including the new Multiwave. They determine the relationship between the signals at the eight outputs. According to Make Noise, Multiwave can even act as an additive harmonic oscillator. In addition, Multiwave offers a Detune parameter for detuning the channels against each other, a polyphonic quantizer, and a polyphonic glide effect. There’s also an integrated MultiMod LFO. Like all Make Noise modules, Multimod offers extensive CV control.
