Named after the Supergrass song and inspired by their ’60s style fuzz tones, this is the latest pedal from Funny Little Boxes.
Signature Tones for under £100
Funny Little Boxes was founded in 2020 by Andy Ilgunas in Norwich. Starting as a humble retailer of quirky second-hand effects pedals, the company quickly evolved into a thriving hub for high-quality, independently built UK pedals.
A cornerstone of FLB’s philosophy is accessibility and affordability, a principle they’ve proudly maintained by never charging more than £100 for any of their pedals since day one.
The genesis of Funny Little Boxes’ original pedal line began in the spring of 2021. Andy was challenged by Matt Webster of the “Let’s Play All” YouTube channel to craft a pedal that encapsulated the iconic sound of Pearl Jam’s “Ten” album.
Their Skeleton Key pedal has been a huge hit with many guitar players and is based on the QOTSA tone. Now, they have attempted to distill down the Supergrass fuzz tone in this latest release.
Op-Amp Fuzz
The Caught By The Fuzz is an op-amp-based fuzz pedal featuring dedicated Fuzz and Volume controls, making it super simple to use. It comes complete with flashing sirens to indicate when the fuzz is engaged!
It operates on a 9V DC negative 2.1mm barrel connector PSU (not included) and has a maximum draw of 11mA, with no battery compartment.
