Behringer PHARA-O MINI Editor by Momo

[UPDATE: 9th July, 2026] It’s taken a while but Momo, purveyors of superb, low-cost 3rd party editors for hardware synths, have just released their editor for Behringer’s PHARA-O MINI pocket synth! As always, the editor replicates the sound design elements of the hardware interface, giving direct access to the synth’s internals.

Better still, the editor comes as a VST plugin which means you can host it in your DAW and control and automate the PHARA-O MINI directly from your computer! The editor also comes with a handy X-Y “pad” control, allowing you to modulate any of the synths parameters in a simple and easy fashion.

And if that wasn’t enough, the editor comes with a new sound bank of 40 presets. The editor works standalone and supports VST2/VST3/AU as a plugin. All of this will set you back the paltry sum of just €6.90/$7.00! Buy it directly from Momo’s website here!

Introducing the PHARA-O MINI

[December 24th, 2024] Like No.17 buses, you get nothing for a while; then three turn up at once. The Behringer PHARA-O MINI is the third in their Mini range, with a 700S-inspired filter.

Behringer continues its end-of-year onslaught with an all-new addition to their Mini range of portable, pocket-sized synths. The distinctly Egyptian-influenced synth is a three voice, three VCO affair that claims to have a low pass filter based on that of the KORG MINI 700S.

It looks like they’ve crammed a lot into this compact unit, which boasts a pure analogue signal path based on “authentic VCO, VCF and VCA designs“. Each of the three VCO’s has saw and square waveform options with the latter having a multi-mode ring modulator to deliver more clangorous tones.

The PHARA-O MINI also has a delay effect, along with some neat performance modes that cover unison, poly, fifths, octaves, ring unison and ring poly. A three-waveform LFO can be used to modulate pitch and filter cutoff alongside its envelope generator.

There’s also a 16-step motion sequencer with 10 memories. Like the other Mini’s, there is a 27-note touch-sensitive keyboard that also doubles up as a feature selector. Connectivity includes MIDI DIN In, Sync In & Out and a USB-C port for power.

More Information

It’s nice to see another affordable and useable Mini synth from Behringer, although its features do bear a strong resemblance to a certain KORG Volca Keys. ETA on this unit will be in the new year, and it will retail for €99.

It’s not a completely new design, it’s actually a volca Keys if you look at it.

Pro VS Mini, so far the best BehrMinimum. Has Herr Muller done a VST for that one, which is extremely versatile and needs at least 200 presets? A very complex synth, especially for the size of it.
