United Studio Technologies created the UT Tube67 to embody the heritage of the famous U67 tube condenser, now available at Thomann on request.
Introduced back in 1960, the original Neumann U67 was the successor to the iconic U47, designed with the K 67 capsule and an EF86 tube. With its integrated acoustic filters, the U67 was able to subdue the proximity effect, which made it a favourite for close-miking vocals and instruments.

The UT Tube67 aims to capture the same hallmarks of this legendary mic design, with its warm, detailed tonal quality. The goal behind the design of the UT Tube67 is for it to become your go-to large-diaphragm condenser, not only when you’re looking for a vintage sound. You’ll be able to use it in close or ambient configurations on a wide range of instruments.
This includes intimate solo vocal performances, or ensembles and choirs, as well as acoustic guitars, amp cabinets, woodwinds, strings, brass, drums, and piano. With the UT Tube67, United Studio Technologies has paid careful attention to every component used in the original U67 design, including the custom gold-sputtered mylar dual-diaphragm capsule and a UT-BV12 transformer.
In addition, the design also incorporates a Faraday shield, which reduces interference (RFI). One of the most exciting features is the AIR MOD switch, which enables a more modern C-800G-style profile with enhanced high frequencies. This is ideal when you want that modern vocal sound for Pop, Hip-Hop, and RnB productions.
Switching between cardioid, figure-8, and omnidirectional pickup modes is done from the mic, and there is also an 80 Hz high-pass filter and a -10 dB pad. Also included is the external switching PSU, which connects to the mic via 7-pin XLR, and there is a shockmount for use in studio.
