Ah, the same procedure as every November: the blackest friday and the cyberest weeks with deals that make even the most under-control GAS come back. Yesterday, the 2025 of Thomann Cyberweek started. And it’s literally of a thousand deals. So what are the secret highlights? Which deal on a guitar, synth, or microphone has been overlooked in this ocean of bargains? Here are my three secret highlights!

Epiphone DG-335: Dave Grohl’s Signature is 11% off!

It’s arguably one of the best-selling signature guitars of all time. Announced in the spring of 2024, the DG-335 was sold out immediately. And it took quite a while until Epiphone was able to make enough copies that at least the initial demand was fulfilled.

By January of this year, its price dropped below a thousand euros for the first time. And it has remained there until now. While there were a few offers during the summer holidays, where the DG-335’s price dropped below 870 euros, it quickly climbed back up to about 999 euros. Until today (or yesterday, that is).

My first secret highlight of Thomann Cyberweek 2025 is the Epiphone DG-335 at 888 euros! You get a semi-hollow with the iconic bound diamond-shaped F-holes, two Gibson Burstbuckers, and a Trini Lopez-style headstock in Pelham Blue. What’s not to love!

Let’s take look at the details: you get a semi-hollow body made from a maple/poplar laminate with a mahogany neck (elliptical profile). The signature also features a laurel fretboard, split diamond inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a Graph Tech nut. The all-nickel hardware includes a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tail bar.

So get one from Thomann* while supplies last! A guitar case is included, too!

Roland TD716 is over 25% off!

Ok, ok, I know. This isn’t exactly easy money territory. But Roland’s V-Drums are about as good as it gets when it comes to electronic drum kits. But don’t take my word for it, just take look at my colleague Rob’s glowing review.

Roland TD716

To quote him, “Roland’s flagship kit has never been this good.” And, to paraphrase, “Roland’s flagship kit has never been this cheap, too.” The TD716 is about as flagship-y as it gets for e-drums. And that comes a price. When we reviewed it this summer, its usual asking price was about eight grand! You do get the most realistic feel, the most versatile drum module, and the most tour-ready electronic drum kit there is currently. But you have to get a second (and third?) mortgage on your house to afford it.

When I did the translation for the German version of Gearnews, it was just such a joy to read how much Rob loved this kit. To quote him one last time, “Spending time with the TD716 has, after all this time, made me realise that the price tag, whilst steep, is justifiable. You simply don’t get anything as good as this for much less money.”

More Information

So, when a premium drum kit like this gets discounted and it gets discounted this much, and it’s not really mentioned anywhere else, it has a place here among my secret highlights. The current price reduction of a little over 25 percent lowers its price at Thomann* from 7,999.00 euros to 5.999.00 euros.

Behringer Powerplay P2: Save over 20% or 7 euros!

Once you start noticing this little headphone amp on stages, it seems like the Powerplay P2 is everywhere. Whenever there is an in-ear monitoring situation (which is pretty much everywhere) where you need a compact headphone amp for all those musicians who don’t need a wireless system, the P2 isn’t far.

Sure, it’s on the affordable side of things, which might give the impression this is a less desirable solution than more expensive small mixers. But so many drummers in smaller bands swear by it! Just do one Google search for an affordable in-ear solution for drummers and other stationary musicians, and in just about every forum and Facebook group, it’s the P2 for headphone amplification.

More Information

It’s got a combo jack (line and XLR) for the input signal, it lasts up 12 hours with two AA batteries, and it weighs a measly 140 grams (roughly 5 ounces). And it sounds absolutely fine. I own and use one regularly, too.

More Information

At 33 euros, the Powerplay P2 is already ridiculously affordable. But during the Thomann Cyberweek 2025 promotion, it’s down by over 20 percent*. 26 Euros! Or get a second one to have a replacement. Just have a few beers less (depending on your local prices, that is) and get one of the best affordable headphone amps on the market! Definitely one of my secret highlights this year!
