Savant Audio Labs is a plugin developer focused on recreating classic studio hardware from the 1980s. With their expertise in DSP, they can make these legendary sounds accessible to a whole new generation of artists and musicians.
Savant IM90
Like the original unit, the IM90 plugin gives you access to a range of lush algorithms, allowing you to build custom effects chains with the expressive and textured effects. The main effects sections include delay/echo, time expansion/compression, and reverb, with the pitch shifter that is accessible from the delay and time expansion sections.
If you’re creating complex effects chains, you’ll probably use the IM90 plugin as a parallel send effect within your DAW. However, you can also use it as an insert for doing pitch shifting on vocal parts to create harmonies, and the wet and dry signal levels are controllable from within the plugin.
The IM90 operates as a stereo effect, but you can unlink the channels to do independent processing to each one. In the delay section, there are unique versions of classic delay processing features, such as vibrato modulation, channel crossfeed, and high cut and low cut filters for shaping the feedback signal.
Overall, the IM90 offers a wealth of vintage effects processing possibilities within an easily accessible plugin interface with precise controls that provide the same sonic feel as the original hardware, enhanced with the flexibility of the DAW environment.
