Pulsar Audio is known for creating plugin versions of classic studio hardware and vintage effects. However, with Vocal Studio, the developer has moved into the more modern realm of complete vocal processing plugins.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Vocal Studio plugin is that it has clear gain metering and a spectrum analyzer in the EQ section. This means you’ll know exactly where you need to do a bit of volume automation in your DAW, to smooth out any unexpected dips in level.
In the preamp stage, there is a Drive control for adding saturation, with Solid-state, Tube, and Germanium circuitry modelling modes. Meanwhile, the Dynamics section provides one-knob controls for the Compressor, De-esser, and Gate, with Natural, Modern, and Gritty character modes.
The EQ section is more detailed than you’d expect, with the capabilities to precisely shape the range of your vocal. The EQ Amount control gives you that instant one-knob gratification, while the nodes on the visual EQ section allow you to work with more detail. Furthermore, you have a Dynamic Focus EQ band to add gloss to the vocal without introducing harshness,
In the Special FX section, there are 11 specially designed modulation and widening effects, including Wide Chorus, Ultra Large, Wide Octave, Phasy Motion, Soft Breath, Thick Octave, Wide Movement, Breathy Octave, Wide Whisper, Wide Stereo, HF Whisper, and Classic Chorus.
In addition, Vocal Studio has delay and reverb sections with different modes and more detailed controls for building expressive effects around your vocals, and useful ducking functions to keep things under control. While Vocal Studio doesn’t include pitch correction, most of us have already invested in software like Melodyne or something similar.
