With the coaxial design, the reproduction across the frequency range is precise, with consistent directivity and perfectly aligned phase. Also, with a 120° x 120° dispersion zone, the ideal listening position is easy to find, and the 96 kHz 24-bit FIR DSP system ensures precisely articulated transient material and reliable stereo imaging.

The ORBIT 11 is powered by 400 W RMS Class-D amplification, with a crossover system that divides the 28 – 28,000 Hz frequency response across the dual 8-inch woofers (28 – 250 Hz), the 6.5-inch midrange driver (250 – 1,800 Hz), and the 1-inch neodymium tweeter (above 1,800 Hz).

With a cardioid acoustic design, the ORBIT 11 considerably reduces reflectivity, which is particularly beneficial in untreated spaces. Toward the front of the enclosures, you’ll find vertical acoustic ports that form the Cardioid Front Baffle. This ensures that the acoustic energy is directed forward, away from any walls or adjacent surfaces.

In addition, a component of the midrange is dampened and controlled, while the frequency and phase-optimized signal reduces the sound radiated from the rear of the enclosure. This means that the cardioid design compensates by controlling directivity and reducing reflections, even in situations where the speaker placement is less-than-ideal, close to a wall or barrier.

With the impulse-compensated dual-woofer system, the low-end reproduction is clear and precise, with reduced resonances and minimized distortion. On top of the enclosure, each monitor has a digital control panel with a 3-band EQ, input attenuation control, and presets for desktop and wall-adjacent speaker positioning, as well as an 80 Hz high-pass filter for use with subwoofers.

Overall, the ORBIT 11 is a well-designed and versatile monitor with careful construction, customization options, and digital AES3 input and thru connections, which favour use in multichannel monitoring setups. Also, the pricing makes them extremely competitive and accessible for musicians.
