Brainworx bx_tonebox is a Flexible New Creative Multieffects Plugin
A multi-effects plugin with versatile routing and intuitive global controls.
With Brainworx bx_tonebox, you can build your own effects chains with six different modules to choose from and mid-side processing power.
Creating detailed effects chains can take time, which holds up the creative process. However, multieffects processors like bx_tonebox offer the immediacy of a streamlined workflow and a selection of great-sounding effects that can add life and colour to any sound in your mix.
Brainworx bx_tonebox
The bx_tonebox should be somewhat familiar to you, as the concept of racking up different effects processors in your DAW has existed since Guitar Rig. The six modules can be placed in any order and rearranged, giving you infinite ways to use the Drive, Circuit, Drift, Comp, Noise, and Filter effects.
As you add each module to your effects chain, you can access the unique controls and features that let you shape your sounds in different ways, and, of course, you can stack multiple instances of the same module if you like. The Comp module, for instance, has five different operating modes, including Analog, Digital, Bus, Limiter, and 2-band.
This allows you to customize the dynamics control in your bx_tonebox effects chain to suit your specific application, so you can select the Bus mode and build a processing chain for your drum bus. Meanwhile, the Drive module has a selection of 10 different modes such as Tape, Overdrive, Tube Triode, Tube Pentode, Aura, Fuzz, Sine, Digital Clip, Wavefolder, and Crossover.

Overall, each module has been well thought out to offer a wide sonic palette for any music genre or sound design application. Also, the idea that you can route each module to stereo, mid-side, left, right, mid, or side, and then use the global controls for automation and cohesion is useful. Besides that, the price is certainly friendlier than most of the plugins in this class.
