The Blackstar TV-10 A Head and TV-10 B Head are compact tube heads that allow for either American or British amp sounds. The combo amplifiers in this series already impressed us in 2024 and they are still very popular. So it makes sense to follow up with heads and matching 1×12 cabinets.
Blackstar TV-10 A Head
The Blackstar TV-10 A is a tube amp reminiscent of classic American sounds. With its 10 watts and a 6L6 power tube, it delivers authentic US sounds in a classic vintage design. The focus here is on crystal-clear, clean tones and dynamic overdrive with strong power amp distortion.
Its controls are also pretty straightforward. There are master, tone, gain, and reverb controls. You get an emulated output, which is tapped directly after the power amplifier. This realistically reproduces the sound characteristics of the 6L6 power tube when overdriven.
Blackstar TV-10 B Head
The British version comes in a dark olive green finish with a gray front grill. Its controls are identical, with master, reverb, tone, and gain. Inside, however, it features an EL34 power tube, which delivers the typical British distortion sound.
Here, too, you get a moderate 10 watts of power, which allows for nasty distortion even at moderate volumes. The emulated output is, of course, also available.
Matching 1×12 Cabs
Blackstar is also releasing matching cabinets. The Blackstar TV-10 A 1 x 12″ Beige is equipped with a 1×12″ Celestion A Type, while the TV-10 B 1 x 12 Olive comes with a 1×12″ Celestion V Type built in. The combinations fit together perfectly, making for a great package.
