Teenage Engineering EP-2350 FX MIC
The EP-2350 FX MIC replaces the discontinued Ting, which had been released alongside the EP-40 Riddim Supertone. While the functionality hasn’t changed, Teenage Engineering has reworked the mic’s design to match the aesthetics of the EP-133 K.O. II and the EP-136 K.O. Sidekick.
The mic works with all EP-series samplers, including the EP-40, EP-133, and EP-1320 Medieval. As it has a standard line output on a coiled cable, you can also connect it directly to any other sampler, mixer, or audio interface. Perfect for your next Dancehall party! To activate the mic, press the large orange talk button on the side.
But the FX MIC can do a lot more. In addition, the mic offers four built-in effects (Echo, Spring, Pixie, Robot) to mangle your voice. In FX mode, the talk button controls the effect intensity. To modify the effect, simply shake the mic. If you like, you can also edit the effect presets using a JSON file.
Furthermore, the FX MIC has four sample slots for triggering samples directly from the mic. According to Teenage Engineering, the new version comes with four new samples. You can import your own samples via USB-C. Unfortunately, though, it isn’t possible to record samples directly on the mic.
The EP-2350 FX MIC runs on two AAA batteries or USB-C bus power.
