Stratocaster Baggy

Fender has made a landmark announcement, debuting its first-ever signature guitar in collaboration with a South Korean artist: the JUKJAE Stratocaster Baggy. This new release marks a significant step in forging new connections between the iconic American guitar brand and the burgeoning talent of the Korean music scene.

Fender Music Korea

Back in October, all Fender-owned brands will be distributed exclusively in Korea by Fender Music Korea. So this is the first significant release since that official announcement.

More Information

JUKJAE

The signature model honors renowned singer-songwriter and genre-blending guitarist JUKJAE, who has been a prominent fixture in the South Korean music industry since 2014, known for his solo work and contributions to K-Pop’s biggest stars, including Girls’ Generation Taeyeon and IU.

They are Japanese-made Fender models, currently exclusive to the South Korean market.

“I’ve been playing guitar for a long time, but being able to create my own signature model with Fender is truly an honor and a deeply meaningful experience for me,” commented JUKJAE on the historic collaboration.

Baek-ui

The JUKJAE Stratocaster Baggy presents a deceptively streamlined aesthetic, available in a subtly aged Olympic White finish. Its name, “Baggy,” is inspired by the Korean word “Baek-ui,” meaning white clothing—a nod to JUKJAE’s signature fashion.

Mid-Boost Circuit

While the design is simplified with only one volume and one tone control, the guitar packs a serious punch with a hidden active circuit, including a Mid-Boost Circuit. The Push-Push active mid-boost is integrated into the volume knob, allowing the player to dial in extra grit and sustain instantly. Finally, the tone knob features a versatile TBX tone control for expanded sonic shaping.

Specifications include Vintage Noiseless pickups, 22 medium jumbo frets, a comfortable soft “V” shape neck with a rosewood fretboard that has a 9.5-inch fretboard radius.

The JUKJAE Stratocaster Baggy is currently only available in limited quantities exclusively through official Fender Music Korea authorised dealers.

Mike Scheidt Gnarwhal Custom Shop

If you thought the Fender was an exclusive, then these Dunable Guitars Mike Scheidt Gnarwhal Custom Shop models are super minimal: they’re releasing only seven worldwide! These are based on the guitar he used with YOB.

The entire instrument uses two-piece Black Limba for the body and neck, selected for its deep, singing resonance and visual appeal. A thin charcoal-burst nitro lacquer finish is used to ensure the wood can resonate freely, completing the crucial tonal package.

The 24.75″ scale length is the key feature, chosen by Scheidt for a “slinkier feel” and “incredibly immediate” responsiveness—essential for his signature YOB guitar sound.

Lollar

For the voice of the instrument, Dunable collaborated with Lollar Pickups to install Scheidt’s preferred humbucker: the High-Wind Imperial, loaded in both the neck and bridge positions.

These pickups are renowned for their exceptional clarity, muscular midrange, and dynamic sensitivity. The Lollar High-Wind Imperials are perfectly tailored to handle the broad sonic palette of Scheidt’s playing—from expansive atmospheric cleans to planet-crushing high-gain.

Priced at $3,650 including a hard case, these look amazing, and I want one!

Paws and Picks: The Cat-Shaped Guitar Accessory Craze

Calling all cat-loving guitarists! Your two great passions are finally united thanks to engineer and bassist Julia of the Etsy shop ThreeStools.

What started as Julia’s personal project—a hand-drawn, cat-shaped pickguard affectionately named the “Telecat”—quickly became a viral sensation after being shared on Reddit. Following the overwhelming response, she launched her boutique shop on Etsy.

Pawesome Pickguards!

As a cat owner and lover of weird pickguards, these appeal to my inner feline. I think custom designs are actually pretty affordable and well-priced. They ship from Singapore, and without shipping and taxes, start at around £50 each here in the UK.
