Behringer BM-15M-MURF-BOX: A Moogerfooger Filter Pedal Clone With Depth
Add More Groove to Your Sound with the New Behringer Clone
The BM-15M-MURF-BOX is a replica of the popular Moog MF-105S MuRF pedal. It uses an analog effect concept that goes beyond classic filter sweeps, integrating movement, modulation, and organic rhythms into audio material. This effect pedal features a complex sequence of eight independent filters, which can be combined with twelve different patterns. The interaction of these filters with the internal envelope control and an external clock ensures that audio sources are actively structured, not merely modified. In combination with a step sequencer or DAW, you can create rhythmically precise soundscapes oscillating between subtle modulation and massive sound distortion.
All About Behringer BM-15M-MURF-BOX
Behringer BM-15M-MURF-BOX: Creative Filter Pedal with Sequencer
At the heart of the BM-15M-MURF-BOX is the classic Moog-inspired MuRF sound, as well as the ability to control it in real time via MIDI synchronization. This feature blends analog sound aesthetics with digital control, enabling precise tuning of filter patterns to sequences, drum loops, or live instruments. An expression pedal allows you to intervene live during a performance, dynamically shaping parameters such as speed and filter response. This works with guitars, which achieve pleasant saturation with the drive control, as well as with synthesizers, whose pads and arpeggios suddenly take on structured movement through rhythmic accents.
The BM-15M-MURF-BOX is most exciting when configured in detail using the Guitar Tribe software. This desktop application allows you to fine-tune individual parameters and save presets. This can save a lot of time, especially for studio use. Access to advanced features gives the device a much wider tonal range than its compact design suggests. At the same time, operation remains intuitive, which simplifies live use. The software works on both macOS and Windows, so setup is independent of the operating system.
Specifications
The Behringer BM-15M-MURF-BOX has eight analog bandpass filters that can be switched between two frequency bands: 110 Hz to 1.8 kHz and 200 Hz to 3.4 kHz. The filters can be used rhythmically and are suitable for both mids and basses. The internal pattern generator provides 24 different filter sequences that can be played with additional LFO modulation. Each bandpass filter is adjustable independently, enabling complex volume curves and pulsating sound textures. A switchable drive input enables harmonic saturation in the output stage, adding warmth to the sound.
In terms of connectivity, the pedal features a mono input, stereo outputs, and a TRS tap/step input for external clock control. It also has extensive CV trigger inputs for rate, mix, envelope, and LFO/sweep, which allow for direct performance control. The pedal is also equipped with MIDI In and USB-C for modern integration and can process MIDI clock and CC data. Power is supplied via an external 9 V DC jack (400 mA), eliminating the need for battery or phantom power.

You can’t help but think that Moog completely shit the bed by not just making these themselves. Mindblowing really
Little inside info.. before Moog corporate fired their recently unionized staff and sold off the company to InMusic there were plans for a full line wide pedal reissue. Hand built in the US and priced affordably
