Bad Cat Ocelot: Compact Tube Amp with a Studio-Ready Roar
Bad Cat's Ocelot will cover you from the stage to the studio to a bedroom
Bad Cat Amplifiers has unleashed its latest innovation: the Ocelot guitar amplifier. This new amp defies its small size, promising to deliver professional-grade tone and unmatched versatility for guitarists in any setting.
Bad Cat Ocelot
The new Bad Cat Ocelot is a two-channel, 20-watt powerhouse, with a switchable power mode that can be scaled down to a quiet 1W.
This flexibility, coupled with a built-in internal speaker load, enables musicians to achieve a rich tube sound at any volume, making it ideal for silent practice or direct recording without the need for an external cabinet.
Dual Channel
The Ocelot’s two channels offer a full spectrum of tones. Channel 1 provides pristine, high-headroom cleans that can be pushed into a warm, expressive edge-of-breakup with the flick of a Hi/Lo mode switch.
Channel 2 delves into high-gain territory, offering everything from tight, punchy crunch to thick, saturated distortion. Both channels feature independent gain and volume controls.
Two notes Torpedo
Where the Ocelot truly stands out is its seamless integration of analog amp craftsmanship with modern digital technology. The amp is powered by two EL84 power tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes, offering classic boutique amp tones.
The amp features a built-in Two notes Torpedo system, offering six onboard Bad Cat DynIR Virtual Cabinet presets.
A dedicated Cab Level knob and Cab switch allow for precise tone shaping through the XLR and headphone outputs, ensuring a consistent, studio-quality sound whether you’re performing live, recording, or using headphones for late-night sessions.
Connectivity
The Bad Cat Ocelot is also packed with intuitive controls and connectivity options. You’ll find a global Master Volume, Presence, and a built-in EQ with Treble, Mid, and Bass. The amp also features a buffered effects loop, USB-C for updates, and a MIDI input for external control, all housed within a heavy-duty aluminum chassis built for the road.
Price and Availability
The Bad Cat Ocelot is available at Thomann, priced €1399.

I’m digging the oceolot. I don’t care what some experts say. I’ve yet to use a solid state or digital amo that comes close to a decent ,well maintained tube amp ! I just wish they weren’t double the cost… oh well, you get what you pay for. That’s a bummer for me, I no longer play clubs, house parties, etc. plus having a family too put’s me in the “my old lady would kill me if I spent that much on a badass amp zone’ I also like sleeping indoors because I live in the stix, and we have bears here !
