Zultan Cymbals Releases Aja Blaze: Sandblasted Cymbal Series for Beginners
15 new budget-friendly cymbals for sonic variety!
Thomann’s own Zultan Cymbals unveils a huge addition to its Aja series, the all-new Aja Blazre series. It contains 15 sandblasted cymbal models ranging from jazzy rides to splashy FX cymbals and china cymbals.
Aja Blaze: A cymbal series with huge sonic variety

If you’re familiar with Zultan Cymbals, Thomann’s in-house cymbal brand, you’ll know that their Aja series is among their most popular cymbal models. It’s aimed at beginners, but offers a sonic depth and variety that punches well above its weight.

With the 15 new Aja Blaze models, Zultan Cymbals is expanding its variety further. Each cymbal is hand-hammered and made from cast B20 bronze. Which is a rare sight in this price range. In addition, every model is sandblasted in production, which adds both to the cymbals’ look but also dampens harshness significantly.
Rides, Crashes, Hihats, and FX Cymbals
The Aja Blaze series contains a variety of different rides, crashes, hihats, and FX cymbals. To start with, it includes three ride cymbals sized 20″, 21″, or 22″ respectively. There are also a pair of 14″ hihats and three splash cymbals (8″, 10″, and 12″).
Zultan Cymbals says that the core sonic character of the Aja Blaze series is an “explosive, but soft” sound. Which, given the Aja series’ excellent reputation, suggests these cymbals are very versatile and not just for beginners. Also part of the series are five crash cymbals in standard sizes 16″, 17″, 18″, 19″, and 20″.
Rounding it off are a couple of very interesting-looking FX cymbals, namely two china cymbals (16″ and 18″) and an 18″ model with holes called Holey Crash. So, if you’re more into prog, jazz, or metal, you’ll find plenty of options here.
Aja Blaze – Who is it for?
While it certainly seems to be aimed at beginners and budget-conscious drummers, the huge variety of options in Aja Blaze suggests it to be worth a look (and listen) for more seasoned drummers, too. Check out all the different models at Thomann*.
