Let’s start with “the more affordable model,” an SG 61 standard. The 60th Anniversary model is of course made in the USA and manufactured according to vintage original specifications. The ingredients are classic as usual and proven over decades: a one-piece mahogany body, a mahogany hem with an equally one-piece rosewood fretboard.
The neck profile corresponds to that of the 1960s and the neck rod is installed in a historical manner without tubing. The nickel hardware is aged, including the ABR-1 bridge, a Maestro Tremolo and the whole thing in a magnificent cherry paint. That’s exactly what an SG has to look like for me.
